Pond Safety - Winter
People of all ages are tempted to venture out onto the ice forming on the JLCA ponds, but it is not safe! While the surface may appear frozen, it may not be solid all the way through. Due to fluctuations in temperatures, water levels and the potential for unsafe conditions, JLCA strongly recommends against anyone walking, ice skating or ice fishing on JLCA ponds.
JLCA disclaims all responsibility for personal injuries sustained by individuals who walk, ice skate or ice fish on JLCA ponds. In these cold temperatures, hypothermia or drowning could occur in minutes. Please keep on eye on your kids as well so they do not fall through the ice.
